MBBS - Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery

The most sought-after medical course acronym MBBS known as Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery or in its Latin name, Medicinae Baccalaureus, Baccalaureus Chirurgiae is the most demanding undergraduate course among Class 12 science students. Both Candidates and their parents and guardians have accepted MBBS as a route to becoming a doctor of modern medicine in our country, India. The course has a tenure of five and a half years of which four and a half years is based on theory whereas a year is assigned for rotatory internship in a particular college recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI). Aspirants who wish to get admission to MBBS course must have completed their Class 12 with Biology, Physics, Chemistry commonly known as PCB along with one of the mandatory languages as English with the percentage prescribed by the respective authority. The admission to MBBS course is done through a national level entrance examination, that is, NEET UG is a single National Eligibility cum Entrance Test across India for admission to around 83,000 MBBS seats in over 500 colleges of the nation. Through MBBS graduates, candidates will get deep insight about Pre-Clinical, Para-Clinical and Clinical subjects.

Aforementioned, MBBS is a postgraduate degree awarded after five and a half years of studies in a particular college recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI).

For admission to MBBS course, it is mandatory for aspirants to fulfil all the eligibility conditions set by the respective authority. Here some of the basic eligibility being capsuled.

1.     It is paramount for aspirants to qualify Class 12 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from recognised boards of India with 50% for General category candidates, while 40% for reserved category (viz SC/ ST/ OBC) candidates.

2.     Aspirants must be of 17 years old to seek admission for MBBS course.

All the other eligibility criteria set by the Medical Council of India (MCI) should be fulfilled by all the students.

As pre-mentioned, the admission to MBBS degree will be only on the basis of NEET – UG score. Aspirants needs to appear the test through application form, followed by admit card, exam conduction, result and counselling. The application form should be submitted in the online mode after the payment of prescribed application fee. Only successfully registered candidates can download the admit card for MBBS degree. The hall ticket can be downloaded in online mode and it is must to carry at the exam centre for verification purposes. 

On the date of the Entrance Exam, it is mandatory for candidates to carry the relevant documents like ID proof, photograph and required documents which are mentioned in the hall ticket. One must take care that each and every exam day guideline must be adhered to inside the exam hall and if anyone with any of the prohibited items will be considered as unfair activity and the candidature of the particular holder will be cancelled. Only the qualified will be appearing for the counselling process.

The MBBS degree is composed of about 17 specialization such as Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Forensic Medicine and many more, with this the average annual salary varies gradually doe to the firm of candidate’s merit and experience in the workplace.

The salary scale varies along with the experience with years, it varies from time to time.
